Irene 4 BIGELOW

Irene C  Dan Marsh
Irene (Bigelow) and Daniel Marsh; West Cemetery; Manchester, Hartford County, CT

1215.     Irene 4, daughter of Jonathan 3 ( Jonathan 2, John 1) BIGELOW and Mabel (EDWARDS) BIGELOW, was baptised 04 November 1711 at First Church, Hartford, Hartford co, CT. She was married at unknown date to Daniel MARSH, baptised 30 October 1709 First Church Hartford, son of Nathaniel and Elizabeth (SPENCER) MARSH. He died 06 October 1793 at Hartford.
We have several conflicting dates for Irene's death, including a 1770 one from Hale's Cemetery Collections, but the most conclusive evidence we have is the probate record in her father's estate. He died 1749, and ten years later Daniel MARSH petitioned the court to conclude division of the estate, he so doing on behalf of his "deceased wife Irene's heirs." Therefore we conclude that his wife Irene was by then dead. Barbour further states that Daniel MARSH married (2) Anne (STANLEY) PITKIN, widow of Joshua PITKIN, but NSDAR Patriot Index says this was Daniel jr.

Two different newspaper dates of death
There is another reference that states she died on 4 Aug 1798 in the Connecticut, U.S., Deaths and Burials Index, 1650-1934.
A close up of the gravestone seems to indicate 4 Aug 1798 as her death date.
