John 5 BIGELOW

This photo shows headstones of the John 4 and/or John 5 Bigelow family. The stone in the back left says Hannah or Anna ( which may be the wife of John 4, Anna (BATE) BIGELOW). There is a smaller footstone visible as well. The large stone front middle is in very bad shape but could make out "John Bigelow; age 75"; this would match John 5 ; there is a footstone for him "JB" visible, to the right and rear. The other large stone is also hard to read but can read "Hannah....wife.....age 84". This would match Hannah DOUGLASS, wife of John 5

 16321.     John 5 BIGELOW, son of John 4 ( Liutenant John 3, Joshua 2, John 1), and Anna (BATE) BIGELOW, was born 2 Sep 1737 at Colchester, New London, CT. He was married there on 10 July 1758 to Hannah DOUGLASS, daughter of John and Elizabeth (QUITERFIELD) DOUGLASS. She was born ____ , and died at Colchester 3 Jan 1820, aged 84 years. They lived in Colchester, and John died there 24 Feb 1812. In the distribution of the estate are mentioned widow Hannah, sons Oliver and John, and daughters Lydia BIGELOW and Hannah HUNGERFORD

For any who are interested I am a direct descendent of Dr. Asa Ambrose Bigelow of Toledo, Ohio through his son William Edgar, grandson Chester Charles Sr. and Great grandson Chester Charles Jr. I have marriage and birth documentation for William Edgar which shows his father and mother. I would like to collaborate with Bigelows searching revolutionary war service by Oliver 6, John 5 or John 6, and the land aquisition by them that resulted in the founding of Johnstown, Ohio.
