and Lucretia (LATHROP) BIGELOW, was born 6 Dec 1806 at Colchester,
New London, CT. He is listed on the 1840 tax list, with other sons of Joel,
and again 1841 and 1842, but received tax abatements in 1846 and 1847.
He married (1) on 6 Nov 1842 at Bolton, Harriet Loomis, who died at unknown
date. He married (2) at Waterford on 21 Aug 1853, Abby J. Beckwith, age
35. Ebenezer was listed as a farmer of East Haddam. Ebenezer was a Private
in Co H, 21st Regt CT Vols, enlisting 23 Aug 1862, but left the service
in Nov. His wife Abby died 5 June 1889 at Waterford alms house, aged 76,
a widow. Middle name sometimes spelled "Lothrop".
