Edmund James ⁶ BIGELOW

16C43.9     Edmund James ⁶ BIGELOW, son of Eleizer ⁵ ( Joshua ⁴ , Eleazer ³ Joshua², John¹), and Lydia (SPENCER) BIGELOW, was born 24 July 1821 at Whitestown, Oneida county, NY (another source says 24 Jan 1821). Coming to Michigan as a youth, he farmed with his father a few years, then returned to New York. There circa 1845 he married (1) Eleanor Butler, born 3 or 8 September 1819 England. They returned to Michigan in 1849, and took over his father's farm, in which occupation he continued until his death on 29 August 1898 at Springfield township, Oakland county, MI. His wife Eleanor died 23 August 1856, and he married (2) 27 April 1862 Mary Ann Powell, she was born 06 January 1831, and died 18 January 1931. All are buried at Bigelow cemetery near Holly, Oakland co, MI.

16C43.95     Sydney R., b 19 Dec 1853 Springfield, Oakland co, MI; d 22 Feb 1879 Oakland co, MI; m 17 Mar 1877 Mary Viola Powell, who m (2) John Divine. Mary b 25 Aug 1854, d 31 Dec 1896. No issue by Sydney Bigelow; 4 daughters surnamed Divine.

16C43.96     Eleanor, b 31 July 1856 Springfield, Oakland co, MI; d 14 Sept 1856 Springfield, Oakland co, MI.
