Benjamin Goodridge 6 BIGELOW

16C23.5      Benjamin Goodridge 6 BIGELOW, son of Ephraim 5 ( Elisha 4 , Eleizer 3, Joshua2, John1) and Lydia (JOHNSON) BIGELOW, was born 08 August 1794 at Westminster, Worcester county, MA. He married, 1823 Mary Matthews, daughter of James and Jane (Archer) Matthews, born 25 February 1801 Cambridge, Washington county, NY. They lived in Ryegate, Caledonia county, VT many years. About 1863 they moved to Dundee, Kane county, IL, where Benjamin died 22 February 1870. His widow returned with her daughter to Ryegate, and died there 13 July 1875.

16C23.51t     Chester Matthews, b 14 Mar 1824; d 22 May 1878 Dundee, IL; m (1) Emma Van Norman, and (2)1866 Emily A. Dodd; res Dundee, IL. 2 sons.

16C23.52      James Henry, b 23 Sept 1827; d probably 10 Oct 1871 Chicago, IL; he was an architect, and for some years prior to the great fire in Chicago maintained an office in the heart of the city, and was a resident of Chicago. He disappeared the night of the fire, and presumably lost his life then.

16C23.53      Mary A., b 11 June 1829; d ____ ; m 04 Apr 1877 Rev. Joseph Hayes; in 1888 res E. Salisbury, MA.

16C23.54      Stephen Decatur, b l7 July 1831; d 20 Sept l832
