Ira HALL

Ira Franklin HALL, Rev., was born 8 Feb 1800 Isle La Motte, Grand Isle co, VT; died 28 Feb 1873, age 73, Ellenburgh Center, NY, buried in Riverside Cemetery. He married Sarah (Sally) WAIT on 04 March 1819 in  Vineyard, Grand Isle co, VT; she  was born 04 March 1804 Isle La Motte, Grand Isle co, VT; and died 17 March 1892 in Ellenburgh Depot. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery as well. Ira called an exhorter of Isle La Motte. He and family are listed as living there through 1840 census (not after). Went to Glover, VT as preacher, then to Ellenburgh Center, NY. Had a farm at West Hill, about 2 1/2 miles from E. Center. When health failed, he sold farm and moved to the center, where he died. His wife Sally died at Ellenburgh Depot, Clinton, NY

Was a farmer and lived the rest of his life at Isle La Motte. Served as a selectman 11 terms; 1791-1835. Married to Roxanne HOLCOMB unknown date; she born 1764 Guildhall, Essex co, VT; d 19 March 1834; both buried in Isle La Motte.
