Earl, Jessie, Flora, Nellie, and Lowell M. Bigelow
16814.151 Lowell M. 8 BIGELOW, son of Benjamin Franklin 7 ( Marshall 6 , Roger 5 , Joseph 4,Joseph 3, Joshua 2,John 1) and Rachel (FARLEY) BIGELOW, was born at Granville, Licking co, OH on 21 November 1841. (This birthdate is corroborated by census, but his tombstone in the family plot at Newton, IA Union cemetery says 20 October 1843). On 17 November 1868 he married Eliza Warren in Scott county, IA. She was born 19 June 1849 and died 24 January 1913. Lowell had served in the Civil War prior to his marriage and was a farrner-grocer in IA. He died in Newton, Jasper co, IA on 18 August 1918. The M. probably stands for Marshall (after his grandfather).

After looking at some family photos, I found that my great-grandfather was
Wilbur Bigelow from Newton, Iowa (born 1870's?; died 1936 in California).
I think his father was Lowell Bigelow, possibly from Iowa....
Wilbur & Elizabeth (Harsh) Bigelow had an only child, Charles, b. 1900's.
Charles married Faye (Carter) Bigelow and had an only child, Thomas Alan
Bigelow, b.1931
Thomas married Betty (Davis) Bigelow and had an only child, me (Brett Carter

I know Wilbur & Elizabeth lived in Cour d'Alene, Idaho sometime before moving to Pasadena, CA. I also have a couple pictures of Elizabeth with her sister-in-law Lillian (Foster) Bigelow, Earl's wife.
It may take some time, but I should be able to get birth and death and
marriage dates for the relatives between Lowell and myself.

CA - interned at Paso Robles Cemetery, Paso Robles,CA), married Betty (Davis)
Bigelow 5/18/1957 (Betty - b. 11/4/1933, Marvell, Arkansas). One child, a
son, Brett.
Note: Thomas divorced Betty in 1981 and married Linda (Heck) Bigelow; no
children.
Charles Bigelow b. ???? (Newton, Iowa), d. ???? (Anaheim, CA - interned
at Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, CA), married Faye (Carter) Bigelow

Thanks for updating the info. I forgot to ask, where did that picture of
my of great-great grand father Lowell with his children come from? It would
be fantastic to get a copy of it to go with the other pictures I have of
him.
Also, If you would like I could send you a copy of a picture I have
of Wilbur (since he's not in that group photo). I was looking over notes
on the back of them and it seems that he lived in Billings, Montana (in addition
to Cour d'Alene, ID). I was surfing the net and also found this link to
the Hamon Massey/Durham-Massey pre-history of our family circa the Norman
Invasion. This looks like a connection that traces our Hamon Massey roots
back to 876 AD in France.
