Note:
E-mail from: SUE@aol.com on 6 Apr 1998: I recently received
a
transcribed copy of a diary of Caroline B. Bigelow, dau of Joel
Howard and
Hannah (Lunt) Bigelow. It is a brief diary, but I found it very
interesting,
and she is an indirect ancestor, her father being a brother to my 3
Great
Grandfather John Warren Bigelow. I was hoping you could suggest
a way for me
to possibly find a direct ancestor, I am sure they would like to have
a copy,
the original was bought at a garage sale in Livermore, ME.
Caroline B. Bigelow (Carrie) married Rev. A. Willard Jackson July 8
1872.
The diary is from April 1865 to Feb 8, 1870, it mentions General Lee
surrendering and the partying that took place in Salem, MA, where she
was
teaching school at Salem Normal School. It also has mention of
Lincoln's
death.
Anyway, I found it very interesting and would like to see if there is
any
direct descendants out there. Any help would be appreciated.
