Joseph ⁴ BIGELOW

1681    Joseph ⁴ BIGELOW, son of Joseph ³( Joshua², John¹), and Sarah ( ____ ) BIGELOW , was born about 1720, place unknown. The family was living in Weston, MA in 1725. In Weston, on 06 May 1747, Joseph jr married (1) Lydia WARREN. She was born in Weston 07 August 1728, daughter of John jr and Abigail (LIVERMORE) WARREN. She died 05 April 1751. Joseph then married (2) 02 April 1752 at Sherborn, Mercy PRATT of Newton, their intention-of-marriage filed at Weston 25 October 1751. Mercy died 03 February 1754. Joseph then married (3) Olive PRATT, their intention filed 14 February 1756.
     On 06 June 1753 Joseph jr bought land of his father, including buildings, and sold the same to Jonathan STIMPSON 07 June 1756. He sold a saddler's shop in Watertown to Moses Bigelow on 17 June 1754. On 02 September 1756 he sold a tract of land to Olive PRATT of Newton. Again, on 30 May 1755 he bought half the home farm and half the buildings belonging to his father. There is no further mention of him in town records after 1756. From his father's reference in the latter's will to "Joseph jr late of Weston" we infer either death or a removal from the town.

Children of Joseph BIGELOW jr were all born in Weston, which was formed out of western Watertown circa 1713. By Lydia WARREN:

16812.     Roger, b 31 Oct 1748; d 22 Apr 1751.

16813.     Sarah, b 11 Feb 1750; living in 1758 when her grandfather Joseph BIGELOW sr left to her property that was his before his marriage to Thankful ROBINSON.
