16B9 Gershom 4 BIGELOW, son of
Gershom 3( Joshua2, John1),
and Rachel (GALE) BIGELOW, was born at unknown date, presumably 1740's,
in Sutton or Auburn, Worcester county, MA. His marriage as Gershom jr was
recorded in Sutton 11 January 1770 to Lydia STOCKWELL. Also, he bought land
in Sutton from David BALDWIN of Sudbury on 09 February 1769, and Gershom jr
and wife Lydia sold a tract of land to James McFarland 07 January 1783. Gershom
appears as head-of family on the censuses of 1790 and 1800, at Royalston in
northern Worcester county on the NH border, after which he is no longer on
census. His children's births were recorded in the 1770's at Royalston. His
widow Lydia was head-of-family on the 1810 and 1820 censuses, and died 20
August 1827, age not stated, at Royalston.

Bigelow, Gershom, Jr. Private, Capt David Chadwick's co.; payroll for
5 days service, agreeable to resolve of Sept.23, 1777; marched to Bennington
on an alarm.
