# 12A3. Daniel 4 BIGELOW (Capt), son of Daniel 3 ( Jonathan 2, John 1) BIGELOW and Hannah (BIDWELL) BIGELOW, was born 1724 at Hartford, Hartford co, CT. He married (1) Abigail ____ , who died 14 November 1757, aged 31 years. Daniel married (2) 19 February 1761 Elizabeth BUTLER, who died 07 November 1781, aged 43 years. Daniel was a ship's captain. An item in the Connecticut Journal, issue of 11 March 1768 states that Capt. Bigelow arrived at new London from St. Eustatia in the West Indies. he died 1806, and is buried in Litchfield, CT, which was the home of his oldest surviving daughter.

12A31 Daniel (Capt), bapt 03 Sept 1749; d Boston Feb 1820; m 29 Sept 1782 Mary JEPSON. 1 known son; Served U.S. Navy in Rev War; applied for pension, which was rejected.
12A32 Abigail, bapt 25 Nov 1750.
12A33 Lucy, b 18 Nov 1752; d 19 Apr 1840 Litchfield, CT; m 07 Jan 1773 Ozias Lewis; res Litchfield. 4 children.
12A34 Nancy, bapt 24 Nov 1754; d 16 jan 1800 Hartford, CT; married 16 Nov 1775 George BURNHAM; res Hartford; 12 children.
12A35 Howe's Bigelow genealogy lists as eldest child Rachel, bapt 06 Feb 1756, but this is now generally agreed to have been the youngest child, the same who died 08 Feb 1756.
