Amos 5 BIGELOW
14241. Amos 5 BIGELOW, son of Daniel 4 (Daniel
3,Daniel2, John1) and Martha (PRATT) BIGELOW
, was born 15 September 1755 in Framingham, Middlesex county, MA. He
married in February 1784 Anne BROWN, daughter of Thomas BROWN. They moved
to Hadley for a short while, then to Amherst. [Amherst records prior to 1820
have been destroyed by fire, so that we know little concerning this family.]
Amos died in Amherst in 1812. From probate records we find that William BOLTWOOD
was appointed guardian of Daniel BIGELOW, son of Amos BIGELOW, late of Amherst,
deceased, and of William BIGELOW, minor over 14 years of age, also son of
Amos.
1790 census: MA-Hampshire-Hadley-Amos Bigelow: 1-2-2-0-0.
The 1800 census reads: Amos Bigelow, males 30010, females 10010.
Amos Bigelow does not appear on the 1810 census.
As far as is known, the following are the children of Amos and Anne (BROWN)
BIGELOW:

b 8 Sep 1788 Hadley, MA; d 15 Jan 1859 Waterville, VT; m 23 Mar 1812 Amanda
DICKENSON. 9 children.
14241.2 William, bapt at Amherst 1 Nov 1808; m, and
res Hopkinton, MA.
14241.3 Daniel--no record.
14241.4 a daughter under age 10 in 1800, but deceased
before her father.
