of Jacob 4( Thomas 3 , Samuel
2, John 1) BIGELOW
and Susanna (MEAD) BIGELOW was born 02 February 1745 at Waltham,
Middlesex co, MA. She was married 13 December 1770 at Waltham to the Rev.
Elijah Brown, son of Ebenezer and Abigail (Adams) Brown. He was born 31
May 1744 at Watertown, MA; he graduated at Harvard in 1765, and was ordained
1770 at Sherborn. He filled the pastorate at Sherborn many years, and was
noted for his preaching ability and dry sense of humor. Susanna died 01 May
1807. Elijah then married her widowed sister, Abigail
(Bigelow) Flagg--1557A, widow of Gershom Flagg. Abigail was born
31 July 1760 at Waltham, and married Gershom Flagg on 25 November 1779. We
have no death date for her but Elijah died 24 October 1816 at Sherborn.
Children of Rev. Elijah and Susanna (Bigelow) Brown, both born Sherborn,
Middlesex, MA:
15573.1 Elijah, b _____ 1781; d 28 July 1805, age 24;
he had graduated Harvard 1804 in divinity, and was a most exemplary and well-liked
man.
15573.2 Henry, b ____ 1783; d 5 Aug 1810, aged 27 years;
a Harvard graduate in 1804 in law, he was known in his youth for his escapades
and for being the opposite in character of his older brother Elijah.
