Justus 8 BIGELOW

1592C.117      Justus 8 BIGELOW, son of  Justus 7 ( Ebenezer 6 , Amasa 5 , Isaac 4, Isaac 3, Samuel 2, John1)  and  Olivia (COX) BIGELOW, was born 09 Dec 1841 at Cornwallis, Nova Scotia. He married 03 March 1869 Susan Cox. She was the daughter of George and Martha (McCulloch) Cox. She was born 31 Oct 1839. They resided in Kingsport, NS. Justus died 19 Nov 1929 in Kentville, NS.  Susan died Feb 1920 in Kentville, NS.  Another record says Susan was the daughter of  George and Nancy (Steadman) Cox (b. 31 Oct 1838-d Feb1920). Justus reportedly married (2) 30 June 1921 Annie Laura (Cox) HILL. She was born 3 March 1863 and died 19 Sep 1945. She was the daughter of Ebenezer and Emma (DEWIS) COX. No children.

1592C.1171     Frederick Henry 9, b 6 July 1882 Medford,,NS; d ___ 1968; m Sarah Blanche Pineo; Frederick was adopted by Justus and Susan and was their only child. Cemetery record of Kings Co., NS shows Frederick was born 1877 but the 1901 Census shows him born 6 July 1882.  His obituary said he was 90 when he died so the cemetery record seems more accurate.  He married Sarah Blanche Pineo. Eight children.  Grandson Raymond Bigelow born 1948 died 1948. Natural Parents of Frederick unknown. (see below)

Comments:
 I read the genealogy of Justus Bigelow 1592C.117 concerning my Grandfather Frederick Henry BIGELOW
1592C.1171. My grandfather is shown on the 1891 census as Fred Lingley Domestic born 6 July 1882. Then on
 the 1901 Census he is listed as Frederick Bigelow son born 06 July 1882. We always understood him to be born
 on 06th July 1877. However, after seeing it on both Census at 06th July 1882, I tend to believe the Census.
 Why he changed it we do not know. He died January 28, 1968.
The other thing I observed, was in reading my father’s genealogical information. 1592C.11711 Lawrence Abram
 BIGELOW. He married Mary Emily (GROVER) DAVIDSON. She was born 25 October 1924 not 25 October 1825 as
 recorded in the write up. In the list of siblings 1592C.117115 LaVerne (DAVIDSON) PORTER (Mrs. Gerald
 Porter) was a step-daughter, never adopted by Lawrence Abram BIGELOW.
