BIGELOW and Rebecca (EAMES) BIGELOW, was born Framingham,
Middlesex
co, MA 28 Oct 1729. When still in his minority he went to
Leicester to work.
There
he married on 30 April 1756 Sarah STEBBINS, daughter of Capt. John
and
Sarah
(SOUTHGATE) STEBBINS or STEBBINGS, but soon after returned to
Framingham
and lived there until he came of age. At that time he came into
possession
of his share of his deceased father's estate from his uncle
Ephraim,
administrator
of the estate. He then returned to Leicester, but in 1766 moved to
Spencer,
where he lived until his death 19 April 1774 (aged 44). his widow,
born 30 Sep 1732 Leicester, Worcester County, MA,
married
(2) ca. 1778. This was a 2nd marriage for both.Ezekiel HOWE of
Shrewsbury; she died Shrewsbury 05 April 1806, age
74

Joseph Bigelow, son of Daniel and Rebecca (Eames) Bigelow, was
born in Framingham, 1736. He married Sarah Stebbins, daughter of
Capt. John Stebbins, April 30, 1756. He settled in Spencer in
1766, purchased lot 43 and built the house now owned by William
G. Muzzy. Mr. Bigelow was a man remarkable for his athletic
feats and exploits of strength, though not large of size. He
died April 19, 1774 aged 39. His widow married secondly, Ezekiel
Howe of Shrewsbury and moved to that town, where she died April
5, 1806, aged 74 years.
