See "Forge" article, July 2000, vol.29, No.3, The Bigelow Saltbox, Williamsville,NY
by Nicole M. Hayes who gathered information for the Amherst, NY museum's
thirty-five-acre site which includes 2 modern exhibit bldgs, 2 replica bldgs,
10 19th century bldgs moved from different areas of the town....Harry was
s/o Harry was one of 13 children of Simeon who had three wives and lived
in Brandon, Vermont. Simeon was a veteran of the American Revolution.
Henry was his eldest son, but he left all of his property to eldest son of
his second marriage, Elijah Avery Bigelow 1790-1847. Probably because of
this disinheritance, Henry left Vermont behind and left 1819 with wife (Lucy
Barnes Bigelow) and 5 children.
They went first to Barre, NY to house owned by Daniel Post Bigelow, Henry's
half brother. They left and on 6 July 1821, arrived in Williamsville, NY.
The town is within the town of Amherst, largest suburb of Buffalo, NY.
They were pioneers at Williamsville (now Amherst). see article and picture
of saltbox house on p. 47. Also: "Forge" Oct.2000, Vol.29, #4

In 1951, James Maxwell Bigelow (9th gen.; son of Nathaniel
D. Bigelow and Flora May Kirby Bigelow ) -- I think he may be my
uncle once removed -- compiled a geneology that contains info back
to John Biglo and through the 10th generation. There is little bio
info, but there are names, birthdates, address (at that time). I
only have one copy so would rather not send it to you. However, you
may have some questions I can answer. Norma Johnson
